The Sicilian Moor's Head(Testa di Moro) is an iconic ceramic vase inspired by an 11th-century legend of passion and betrayal in Palermo. After learning her Moorish lover had a secret family, a heartbroken Sicilian girl beheaded him in his sleep and turned his head into a flowerpot for basil. Today, these crowned ceramic heads serve as traditional symbols of love, jealousy, and Sicilian craftsmanship found on balconies across the island.
