A remote clue isn’t enough
If you have even a remote clue how something should look, feel, act, function, or resemble and you have an opinion about it, congratulations. You’ve just killed the designer and the developer. You kind of killed the server guy too.
Software development and design as we knew them are changing fast. That doesn’t mean everyone suddenly has the desire, context, knowledge, or time to build the thing they want. A lot of people still need someone who can take that half formed idea and actually make it real.
In general people stay in their lane. I wrote about this in Bespoke software. Don’t join the herd mindlessly chanting “software is dead.” Most of them are just stuck thinking, “shit what now?”
